Melbourne Game Blog

Games, dismantled fold by fold.

We write the game criticism we always wanted to read — long-form RPG breakdowns, indie discoveries and competitive guides, published every week from the heart of Melbourne.

A note from the founder

Why this blog exists

I started TitanStormKingdom in 2019 after fifteen years of buying games on hype and regretting half of them. The reviews I found were either 400-word score machines or paid puff pieces. I wanted something slower and more honest — writing that respects both your time and your wallet.

Today a small crew of us play everything to completion before a word goes live. No early-access scores, no publisher junkets, no affiliate strings. Just the game, the hours we put in, and an honest verdict — folded together into something worth reading with your morning coffee.

— Callum Reyes, Founder & Editor

How it works

From launch day to final verdict

Every review follows the same three-step process so you always know exactly how our conclusions are earned.

Hands-on gameplay session
01

Play to completion

We finish the campaign — often 40+ hours — before scoring. Roguelikes and live-service titles get a minimum two-week window so systems have time to reveal themselves.

Editor writing detailed notes
02

Write the long read

Each piece runs 1,500–3,000 words covering pacing, performance across platforms, accessibility options and value for the AU$79–$129 asking price. Screenshots are ours, never press kits.

Second editor reviewing a draft
03

Second-pass verdict

A second editor who hasn't touched the game reads the draft cold and challenges the score. Only then does it publish — with a plain "buy, wait, or skip" call at the top.
